The unofficial online home of the UK Independence Party
Changing The MenEU
Merseyside Euro MP Paul Nuttall will be at a protest barbecue in Brussels tomorrow (Thur) to haul music legend Paul McCartney over the coals.
The clash of the two Merseyside Pauls results from the vegetarian singer’s campaign to stop people eating meat to save Mankind.
He and Rajendra Pachauri have flown to Brussels as they want to get EU policy-makers to harass people into changing their lifestyles to “save the planet”.
“Pachauri is best known for not being a climate scientist and for
chairing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Paul McCartney is best known for not being John Lennon and for having been one of the Beatles.
“A railway engineer and a pop star are telling the EU to tell you what to have for dinner. It’s just crazy,” said Mr Nuttall, UK Independence Party MEP.
“It’s time to show these lentil-pushers that we’re not interested in knitting our own muesli. We don’t want their solar-powered bean burgers. We want sausages, steaks, roast-chicken, beef, turkey, lamb, pork, duck…
“The EU has used the environment as an excuse to get its hands in our pockets. Now it’s reaching for our sausages and meat balls, thanks to Pachauri and McCartney.
“While they are there, they will claim that meat production causes
greater carbon emissions than the same amount of vegetarian food. But they miss the fact there is an overwhelming scientific consensus – backed up by evidence and peer-reviewed research – that vegetarian food isn’t as tasty.
“The vege-evangelists will also claim that it is EU business to decide what should or shouldn’t be on our plates. This is something we have always turned to mothers and grandmothers for – they know best,” said Mr Nuttall.
“It’s not only farmers who will be out of a job if McCartney and Pachauri get their way – the bureaucrats at the super-nanny super-state would make their own mothers redundant. Stand-by for EU directives on nose-picking, bottom-scratching, and not putting things in ears,” he added.
