Cameron talk lacks bite

Tory leader David Cameron has spoken of the importance of private enterprise to the UK's economic recovery, but ignored the devastating impact that a new EU directive will have on the City of London.

"Typical of Dave, it's all about the soundbite with not a word of substance when he has the big stage," said UKIP Leader Nigel Farage.

"He patronised the bigwigs of the CBI with talk of 'the engine of private enterprise' while the EU pours sugar in the petrol tank right under his nose.

"The EU directives restricting activity of the City of London's hedge fund industry have now been cleared for implementation by another rubber-stamping committee and they will cost the UK business, talent and millions of pounds.

"If Dave and his mates truly are'unashamedly pro-enterprise and pro-wealth creation' then why doesn't he do something about the decimation of financial services, the most important export industry we have?"
